Personally, I think the locking mechanism is one of the features that really makes the difference with the XL pass-thrus.  Between the short-sweep ratchet (you have to turn in significantly less to get a &quot;click&quot;), the pass-thru feature (it replaces deep sockets), and the locking flex mechanism, this thing just won't go back in the drawer.

You know how sometimes you *want* to have a certain opinion of a tool, but the tool just forces a different one on you?  This is one of those situations.  We love this thing, and it wasn't by choice. &lt;grin&gt;</description>
