The only wired tools I've bought are Ridgid... can't be happier than with their performance. I'd love to start my battery powered collection now :)

If Ridgid makes it and I need or want one Ridgid is the only way I go. I have learned even if you think you know all there is to know about a paticular Ridgid tool you must always read the instruction book. The Ridgid tools are so advanced that they have features that you would not suspect. I own 6 major shop machines, and about 15 of the max-select or other battery operated tools. My friends call me the Ridgid Man. I have never had to use it but the Lifetime Warrenty can't be topped. I am always checking thier website to see what exciting tools will be coming out next. As an amature woodworker, making things is always easier when the tool company make tools that work properly.

I got the 24XLi kit for Christmas and just cracked it open (it's too cold up here in the great white north to do anything in the winter!). Awesome workmanship on these tools. The drills a bit heavy though for screws in tight areas. Maybe I'll have to get the impact driver, but does anyone know if I can get one that takes the 24V LiIon batteries instead of the 14.4V NiCads?

Having the tools in my hands makes me want to build something! I know this sounds subjective, but having the orange gives me more pride of ownership than the yellow, red or teal!! I think Ridgid is for those who research and are more refined tool owners than the rest. Go Ridgid!

I'm not sure if that's entirely true for the power tools though. PS... bender is great!

The past 20 years I have been a dedicated Rigid User from Pipe Threaders,Cutters,Reamers,Vacuums,Circular Saws and now Portable Drills. I have one thing to say, they make a tool that you can pass down to the next generation. Who cares about a warranty, you have a Rigid, known to outlast any tool you put against it, a tool that stands alone!

My cordless drilled just died :( I've had it 6 years. I'm disparately searching for a replacement for the number of projects I have lined up. A friend suggested I take advantage of a super deal on a Ridgid before Christmas, but couldn't justify to my wife having a second drill. Boy do I look stupid now. Here's hoping I can get this Ridgid drill set. Can't beat the lifetime warranty on the drill and batteries!

Oh yeah, my comment... I like how the new max select tools take my older batteries, but ridgid needs to make a radio. Seriously.. make a freaking radio already. Build a vacuum into it or something so it doesn't infringe on the dewalt patent, but make a freaking radio already!

Hey eschoendorff hows the combo kit working out? I just bought an older X2 kit. Got a good deal on it :) Nothing too fancy, just basic cordless tools

The Ridgid cordless tools have been a favorite of mine for quite a while. I started using the 18V combo before the Lithium Ion battery tools were available. The power is great and the tools have held up better than the yellow brand I've used (chuck problems on two of those!). It would be hard to convince me that there is a better value in cordless tools than the Ridgid line available.

Now, the dual voltage version of the tools gives me a great way to begin transitioning with a lot of cross use of battery and chargers. I am currently looking a the planer.

I commend you guys for this, and really hope we see more of these.

For a young guy just started to build up his tool collectoin (and garage, finally!) these contests are great. If I don't win, I really hope some other young guy with empty pockets gets to.

This is a really great incentive for people to comment--I have de-lurked and now I can't stop commenting as a result. You have yourselves to blame if I become obnoxious!

I have no local dealer for the Ridgid stuff--it seems really rugged, and it certainly looks good--but I can't wait to get a hands on.
