Fantastic tool! Whoever owns one of these takes his or her work seriously and is very optimistic. Each fastener would be lovingly torqued to perfection.
I love quality and this shows the tool of the trade has perfection in mind. Great stuff!

It's on clearance for under $40 now.

This would make a good gift for a tool nut, but if you pick it up cheap, you can look like a real snob using a gold plated ratchet and not feel bad about it either.

That's because you'd only be buying it for yourself. It's meant as a GIFT, friends, which means you buy it for someone else. And that's exactly why I bought it: As a gift to my father, who fed us for decades rebuilding aircraft engines using common hand tools, and is retiring next month. Be assured he's getting more than just a 'measly ratchet' for his birthday/retirement present. That's how much we care about family. Sounds like your families are a little lacking in mutual care...

I've always wondered who buys these gold plated tools. Not just the Craftsman ones, I had a Mac dealer several years ago that had everything from gold plated ratchets to spark plug sockets on his truck. I suppose they would look cool in a gas pump display case.
