Andrew C writes: “Your recent article on hole saws made me think of one of the coolest things I’ve seen in a while: hole saw alignment guides.  Locksmiths use them to enlarge holes in doors, but they’re good for any time you want to make a hole bigger (as long as you start with a standard 1-1/2″, 3/4″ or 5/8″ hole).”

This looks like a truly handy way to overbore a pre-existing hole, and we’re surprised we haven’t seen these before.  It’s specialty tools like this that take a job from diffuclt to easy.

The guides pictured above come from Tri-City Lock, and they range in price from $18 to $49 with an $8 to $10.50 shipping charge.
