A/C by Air

This was just too cool to pass up posting. Ever wonder how they get those big a/c units on the roof? On the way into the office this morning we passed a construction site where they’re building a new (very large) store, and this helicopter was delivering a huge commercial air conditioner.
To give you an idea of scale, the a/c unit’s bigger than a car. Sweet.

A fair amount of rooftop radio and cellular equipment is delivered this way too, for locations where the elevator and stairway situation is less than ideal.
In some areas, leasing rooftop space on a basically-abandoned building makes such a dent in the recurring-cost bottom line, that the expense of renting a helicopter for an hour to deliver the initial site equipment is peanuts.
