Finds: Stanley’s QuickSpike Chalk Line Anchor

This little gem allows you to quickly attach the end of your chalk line to pretty much any point of any common building surface — as opposed to just the edges. A three-position spike extends from the bottom to grip the material, holding the line in place.
It’s designed to mount to the end of Stanley’s PowerWinder and Fat Max Xtreme chalk reels and is made of plastic and aluminum with a stainless hook and mounting clip.
It’s a very new product, so we haven’t seen pricing for it yet, but we’ll post back when we find out.

This seems like a fancy replacement for a finish nail or masking tape to me.
