Talking about kick-backs... from an in-law I got an older electronic radial saw from Craftsman. Well not used to the top cutting radial saw, I received the first kickback just above my jewels.
It's been a couple weeks now but the impact still shows. I think my wife will happily invest in some featherboard grips!

I want. I've been relying on kerfed scrapwood for years and if these last, it would be nice not to have to cut a new one evertime I need one.

These wouldn't work on my aluminum fence. I made a block that is the same width as my fence and has bolts on the bottom that slide in the T-slots on top of my fence. Then I bolted a slotted featherboard onto the side of the block.. Works great and made out of scrap. I considered using epoxy to hold a couple of disk drive magnets in the bottom of a shop made featherboard, but never really had that much need for one on the side.

I've seen these in the Lee Valley catalog as well. I've been thinking about getting a couple for a while now; I think you've just made up my mind (what's $39 compared to a kick-back in the gut?)

These are great. I've had mine for 15 years and if anything ever happens to to them, I'm definitely getting more.
