Right Angle Drill Attachment
By Chuck Cage
Sometimes it’s difficult to get your full-size cordless drill into tight spaces, but it’s a lot easier if you have a right angle attachment handy. This particular one comes from Milwaukee and can handle up to 235 in-lbs. of torque.
The Milwaukee RAD attachment (as they call it, model 49-22-8510) accepts 1/4″ hex drive accessories (like screwdriver bits, hex drive bits, drill bits, flat boring bits, etc.) and fits any 1/4″ or larger chuck. Milwaukee says it’s ideal for any 2.4V or larger cordless drill.
235 in-lbs. of torque is generally more than enough for most household tasks, but beware that a number of 1/2″ chuck 18+V drills can deliver twice this much torque. Be careful!
Anyway, this is a truly useful accessory to have, and pricing starts around $45 on the street.
