		<description>I use a cheap caliper to measure the distance between the saw's blade and guide edge.  Then I mark the wood where I want the cut, lay out my saw guide, flipping the caliper over to get the offset between my mark and the saw guide.  If you're careful you can get spot-on measurements that account for the exact kerf of your blade.

The system works fairly well, but takes a small amount of fiddling.  I think it would work better if I had a better saw guide (I just use the cheapo straight aluminum guides).</description>
